Optical design is at the heart of Polaris Sensor Technologies strength. Many companies can fabricate devices if they are given a set of prints, but the companies that are experts in designing opto electronic systems and also fabricating these systems are few and far between. Polaris has separated itself from the competition with a core engineering team holding advanced degrees in: Physics Optical Design Electrical engineering Mechanical engineering Computer programming Materials Science With this set of complementary skills, Polaris approaches every optical design project from multiple angles taking into consideration environmental, data processing, structural, and optical concerns and issues. Design and modeling programs available include MATLAB®, Mathcad®, and Mathematica® for general analysis, ZEMAX® and G-Solver® are used in both refractive and diffractive optical design, and SolidWorks® and Cosmos® are used for mechanical design. Instrumentation and programming languages such as LabVIEW®, VisualBasic and C permit rapid prototyping of instrumentation with user friendly interfaces. |
