The Polaris Stereo Video Camera is the first known stereo camera that will offer Automatic Stereo Convergence (ASC). At the heart of the proposed SVC is a very high quality camera system, the Sony FCB-EX1000 color block camera. This camera system is very small and light weight. It was developed to fit in small security domes for traffic monitoring applications where quality optics and zoom are very important for visualizing traffic flow as well as zooming in for license plat identification. The camera is fully integrated with zoom control, auto-focus, auto-iris, AGC white balance control, and electronic shutter control. The integrated camera lens has a 32x optical zoom capability.
